FAQs

How long do I need to see a provider?

Navigating the path to optimal health can vary depending on your unique circumstances, including the issues at hand, behaviors, and readiness for transformation. Our goal is to guide you back to a life of well-being swiftly! Throughout our journey together, we will seek your feedback regularly to ensure your treatment progress aligns with your expectations.

Initially, we recommend intensive treatment over the first few months to address the main concerns prompting your visit. Subsequently, we’ll adjust the frequency of our sessions to provide space for you to practice outside of sessions.

What if I don’t like therapy or don’t fit with my therapist? Can I stop?

Absolutely! We understand that seeking help can be challenging. Talking about sensitive issues filled with difficult emotions might not seem right for you at this moment. If you are considering stopping counseling, we encourage you to have an open and honest conversation with your therapist. We know the discomfort it may bring, as we’ve been in similar situations ourselves.

Your input during our sessions is valued, and we are here to assist you in managing your challenges before concluding treatment, so you can find a bit more peace in your life.

What is your no-show/late cancel policy?

Your therapist carefully manages their schedule to focus entirely on your well-being. To respect their time and the needs of others, please notify them 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel. This ensures we can accommodate other clients effectively. In the case of emergencies, reach out to reschedule promptly.

We empathize with life’s unpredictable nature and offer understanding by allowing one missed appointment without penalty. Other no-show/late cancelled appointments will result in a $50 charge. Three or more no-show appointments may result in termination of counseling.

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept cash and most major US issued credit or debit cards including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Since we are a health care practice, we also accept Health Saving Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards.

We do not accept EBT, other benefit cards, or government cards.

What is a Licensed Professional Counselor?

A licensed professional counselor in Wisconsin holds a master’s degree in counseling and undergoes 3,000 hours of supervised practice post-graduation. Some therapists are working towards full licensure, receiving guidance from a clinician overseeing their practice. This supervising clinician, ensuring confidentiality, collaborates with your counselor to deliver quality care. During the intake session, confidentiality and its boundaries will be openly discussed.

Counselors operate across various settings, addressing a range of mental health concerns through prevention, assessment, diagnosis, or treatment based on your specific needs. Support from a counselor involves expert assistance tailored to enhance your well-being with compassion and expertise in a safe and understanding environment.
